Aman is basically half-boiled rice. But the interesting thing is that Aman is not the name of any rice but it is the name of a season. All rice has some name, but sometimes the farmer calls the season name without telling the variety of rice grown. This is how Aman rice is named. Madaripur, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Manikganj, Jamalpur, Sherpur, Rajshahi, Pabna.

This rice is cultivated in many other regions of Bangladesh. Basically, this rice is cultivated in the land where water accumulates around the rivers of these regions.

Aman rice is red colored rice. Its coat has a layer of red color. So the rice washing water is slightly reddish in color.
